OUR DEAR FRIENDS ‘THE BLUETONES’ AND ANDY – SEPT.2011
Hi all.
Well..things could not have gone better for ‘The Olympus Sound’. A wonderful initial chart placing of 14 (a high of 3 in the Independant Charts) and more ‘Album of the year’ reviews than you could shake a percussive egg at. The limited edition vinyl single of Answers on a postcard was a resounding success (late orders will go out this week, apologies for the slight delay) so much so that there will be a limited vinyl run of the next single ‘Fall Down B/W Happy Again’ too. More news on that shortly. There is also talk of finally getting ‘The Olympus Sound’ released on Vinyl. Stay tuned for that.
The band and 1969 are also proud to announce that the venerable Strange Days Japanese re-issue specialists will be releasing the entire ‘Pugwash’ back catalogue over the coming year. The ink is still drying on this deal but we’ll finally see lost Pug-albums ‘Almond Tea…as served by’ and ‘Almanac’ get their moment in the setting sun..!!
The tour of the U.K with The Bluetones was a very very special one for the band and friends for life were made. We love the guys and all the crew and we wish them every success in everything they do…..they are true gentlemen one and all. Also a big thank you to all the wonderful friends we made amongst the fans.xx
So now…..an Irish Tour…..phew!!
As of today (29-9-2011) these are the confirmed dates of the Pugs October Irish tour :
FRIDAY 7TH – RATOATH THEATRE, MEATH
THURSDAY 13TH – THE OLD OAK, CORK
FRIDAY 14TH – THE SPIRIT STORE, DUNDALK
SATURDAY 15TH – THE STABLES, MULLINGAR
WEDNESDAY 19TH – THE BUTTON FACTORY, DUBLIN
FRIDAY 21ST – DOLANS, LIMERICK
SATURDAY 22ND – PORTERHOUSE, BRAY
There will in all probability be a show in Clare on the 20th but as of this update it has yet to be confirmed. We will confirm this show as soon as we hear it has been finalised.
This is just the beginning of the beginning of ‘The Olympus Sound’ reaching out to the world. We hope to meet you and say hello on our adventure, hopefully at the Irish shows for starters!!
