GREAT REVIEW OF A PUGS GIG ON Cluas.

4 October 2006

“You’ll never get bored at a Pugs gig, and one of those rare times where there is no mid-set slump, no pedestrian will-this-do batch of songs that makes the punters glance at their watches or make a dash for the bar. And if that wasn’t enough they have in frontman Thomas Walsh not only one of the most gifted and under-appreciated songwriters in the country, but also the funniest. His between-song banter is as funny as his songs are exquisite. Enjoy!”

As we would say of course, a certain wonderful Mr. Ken Fallon has posted his recollections of a very wet and windy night in the majestic barn/venue of The Stables in Mullingar. The band are back there next week so the review is timely as well as a very sweet taster of what you can get from the lads even when the elements try their best to scupper a sell-out. The band agree that the cluas website is the best Irish music site and discussion forum around. There are plenty of Pug related articles on the Cluas site. There’s an interview with Thomas from 2000 and a wonderful review of Almanac and Earworm so get over there and check out the Live Review and stay for plenty more. Thank you to everyone at Cluas for their continued support of The Pugs and great Irish music in general.
