4 MORE CLIPS.....4 MORE CLIPS.....!!!!!

3 November 2007
More 'fake cover' fun.....

More rough sneaky listens to the forthcoming album…..

That headline is a very witty ‘Nixon-esque’ reference…..

Anyway!!

Yes, 4 more ‘rough’ monitor mix clips of tracks from the forthcoming album (except the ‘strings only’ clip of course) are now up on the 11 Modern Antiquities MySpace page. All the relevant musical pieces are now in place ready for the album mix which will begin in earnest next week. We’re still planning on a February ‘08 release although it’s looking more like the 28th. That’ll give you all time to replenish the bank balance after the assault it’ll get on Valentines Day, what with the price of choccies and flowers and musical earwigs that play ‘3 Times A lady’.....etc, etc, etc….

Would love to hear your comments on the new clips as usual and we’d like to thank you for the overwhelming response to the dedicated MySpace page already!!

Thank you all…..T.xx

P.S…..I know ‘Bob’ starts playing automatically when you click on the page but if you click on the top left of his clip you can mute those ‘Homesick Blues’ baby and enjoy the new tracks!!

I have had a very gracious gift ,( courtesy of Thomas) of my own rough sneaky listens to 11 Modern Antiquities…..
it has been on constant replay for 2 weeks. Last night I gave it a close listen through the headphones and the term ‘rough mix’ raises the bar for other bands…the scoring of the strings in ‘Clusterbomb’ is just outstanding, but the use of a hammer dulcimer in there ( I believe it’s called a tiompan in Irish music) gives this track a beautiful percussive melodic lift that rivets your attention. “Take Me Away’ is nothing short of hit-magic.There isn’t a low point on this whole album, not that there ever is on Pugs issue. You get the lot, jollity ( no pun intended) tears, fun and frolics. The co-writes with Andy Partridge bear his typical hallmarks and lead one to hope that a whole album of Walsh/Partridge songs should be considered. It’s obvious that Andy can still write, but the impetus provided by an enthusiastic songwriting partner is worth its weight in musical gold.
    BUY BUY BUY!!!!!
