"11 Modern Antiquities" is taking POP shape.....

29 May 2007
We strum these for a livin'.....ALLEGEDLY!!

It’s full steam ahead for the new album Ladies and Gentlemen

Hi all, Thomas here…..

The A-Team.....

Just another little picture/new album update for all you wonderful souls. We’ve just done 11 days straight recording (or tracking as it’s also known, not by me though!!) for the new album currently with the working title of “11 Modern Antiquities”!! I think that title may stick (feel free to tell me it’s crap or tell me it’s lover-ley).

Neil trys some micro-Korg..... Neil and Thomas tackle 'The Canon And The Bell'

The core of the recording process has been myself, keith and Stephen Farrell and the God-like majesty of Mr. Neil Hannon. We’re all extremely honoured that Neil has spread his musical seed all over the record (some bloody awesome results I must say) and I’m sure you’ll all agree when you get to hear it, hopefully later this year, possibly early September.

Our friend Mundy pops in for tea and a buttie..... Had fun messing with this pic of Keith trying his hand at the cello.....

The tracks that will be on the record (in no particular order) are as follows :

1. Take Me Away
2. Cluster bomb
3. Here
4. Your Friend
5. Limerance
6. The Canon And The Bell
7. My Genius (Co-written with Andy Partridge)
8. Your Friend
9. Song For You.
10. At The Sea (Co-written with Andy partridge)
11. Landsdowne Valley

A Pudgy-Pug plonkin' the old pianee..... Neil dons the shades for 'At The Sea'

I’m very proud of what’s been achieved so far and we’re working harder than ever to achieve a really high standard for this very important Pugwash record, we hope you’ll love and buy it in equal measure…..HOORAY!! (Quick sales pitch there, sorry)

Neil in dreamy keyboard heaven..... Our German cello player Rieke with Neil.....

Any road up, I hope you enjoy the new pics and the little peek into our recording process. Keep pushing for us everyone we’re not going away without a POP FIGHT!!

A Pug sambo.....

Love – Thomas and the band (Whomever they may be…..!!).xxxxx

i want that mellotron shirt! love my pugs, h, south carolina, stately american

I think the title is loverly! It’s either that one or “11 Instant Classics” which WILL be true also, but not have the cool ring to it. I was reading where someone referred to Sean O’Hagen’s “tendency towards ‘retro futurism’”. Modern antiquities are a tad different eh?
    Keep Puggin’ On!
    Love, Ann
